Carpenter
We are currently seeking skilled carpenters with excellent construction knowledge, good working practices and a keen eye for detail. The right candidates will need to have an exceptional level of finishing and be capable of carrying out the installation of all types of bespoke joinery to the highest of standards. The ability to work alone or as part of a team is essential, as well as commitment to our business in exchange for a management career opportunity.
Project manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and motivated construction project manager here at Blackberry Build. The role requires management of projects ranging from medium sized house renovations and refurbishments to multi-million-pound luxury new builds. The majority of our projects are based in Essex; however, we also cover Suffolk and Kent for larger projects, therefore the role will involve travelling around multiple projects in several areas to work alongside Site Managers and Forepersons, as well as visits to our office in Brentwood, Essex for meetings and as per the business needs.
Architect
Blackberry Build is current looking for experienced architects with either RIBA Part 1 or 2 qualifications. The role will involve working on projects from inception to completion and the right candidate will need to have the ability to work flexibly across projects both individually and as part of the team. You must be dedicated to providing the highest standard of work across all aspects of the role and will be based in our Brentwood office with hybrid working, including working from home.
Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

Preferable qualifications:
- Analysing design information to determine that it is executed and to the highest level of quality
- Reviewing and adapting generic Scope of Works Documents to ensure that they are exhaustive and include project specific Contractor obligations
- Undertaking detailed analysis of tender returns to ensure that they are accurate
- Analysing the inclusions and exclusions items provided by the contractors and ensuring that these are dealt with appropriately
- Assessing risk (Provisional sums, re-measurable items etc.) and articulating this to the directors for reporting purposes
- Dealing with procurement in a timely fashion so as to ensure the projects are delivered to programme specs
- Undertake timely and robust cost reporting (Outturn cost on and elemental cost head basis)
- Adequately articulate and inform the business of monthly cost movements and identify mitigation measures to offset against increased cost
- Review monthly Contractor Payment Applications and produce timely Payment Certificates on Coins for Business approval
- Maintain a monthly review of variations and issue Pay Less Notices where required to protect the business
- Engagement with key Trade Contractors to ensure the business is kept aware of any matters which may detrimentally effect both the financials and running of the projects

Preferable qualifications:
- Preferred - Either an undergraduate degree accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in quantity surveying
- Preferred - A postgraduate conversion course (a Pg Dip or a masters) accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
